Ty’Dre’s We Up single has captured the attention of listeners globally, with nearly 10K streams to date. The song captivates a time of discourse and setbacks, but carries an uplifting spirit — an anthem most can relate to. Its’ inclusion in Apple Music’s “The New Toronto ‘’ playlist has sustained its lifespan throughout the weeks. Ty’Dre knew this song was a special one, so it was only right that he delivered an intimate exclusive to compliment the love that the song has been receiving.

The acoustic performance features vocalists Tatiauna and Jayd Lake, guitarist Vymvn, pianist/producer Tony Range and of course Ty’Dre. Each individual plays a pivotal role in capturing the soulful and emotional essence of We Up, while adding a twist to the studio version. Expertly capturing the visuals of the performance is his multi-talented team of director EyesofNomes, and photographers Verdah and Naveen. Throughout the video you can see the ambition and drive as Ty’Dre raps bar after bar. He connects with the camera and creates personal moments while rapping meaningful lyrics like, “take a look at what we did, they tried to tell us that we couldn’t be here.” During these moments, the audience can feel the shift of intimacy that he evokes throughout the performance.

To further enhance the acoustic experience, Ty’Dre switches up a few lyrics during the performance. An example of this is when Ty’Dre says “this family here is for life” instead of “this brotherhood is for life.” Subtle changes like this are a testament to Ty’Dre’s constant attention to detail. Whether it is making sure the camera properly captures emotion or reworking a lyric for relatability, Ty’Dre’s complete artistry shines through in this powerful acapella performance of We Up.
