Telaport is an electronic music duo from Dallas, Texas. They recently dropped their latest single Ghost Friends on all platforms Exploring electronic, top 40, dream pop, rap, and EDM- this duo is a force to the music industry, brining authenticity and passion to the music scene. We recently caught up with Telaport and asked them a few questions about their music career:

When you started making music, how has your life changed?

As individuals, we both started out as solo artists. We both were never the cool kids, in the background of parties but have always had a passion for music. Music has been the one thing to always keep pushing us forward with situations that have gotten thrown our way in life. Becoming a duo (Telaport) has changed both of our lives especially as artists drastically. We trust each other’s creativity, and sound. We are able to write, produce and perform all of our original content, and do it ourselves- which makes it so much more rewarding. We both bring a different essence to the music and it creates such a cool vibe.

How do you think the COVID-19 pandemic altered the music industry?

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the music industry has been even more digitized, thus making it easier to share music with a larger audience. A lot of people have been working from home, and stuck in their rooms- so it’s given artists a better chance to reach more people through social media platforms on a larger scale.

What current projects are you working on that we can expect in the future?

Right now we are excited to announce the release of a track we’ve been holding onto for some time now “Ghost Friends” is so different from everything we have done, and it feels like a great peak at what’s to come in the future. You can expect our new EP to drop this year of 2022. This year is all about content, and we are very excited to debut our new EP- “Better Together”.

What would you tell upcoming artists trying to make it in the music industry?

The music industry is a tough market to be in, but it’s not impossible. Content and creativity is everything. The biggest lesson in the industry that we have learned, is to make sure that while you’re being creative and doing what you love, that you have a good team around you. Surround yourself with people that have the same passion and believe in what you are doing, and don’t listen to everyone that puts out negative energy towards you or your projects. Do what you love, have fun and see what happens.
