Scrptiid Is Making New Waves

Scrptiid is a rising dancehall artist from Jamaica. Scrptiid’s new single 10 A Day made its way to the streets starting from the root of music Jamaica. The song comes on the heels of hit single Mean It, released earlier this year. Signed to Alive Enterprise Scrptiid is ready to become a household name. His music and consistency is a force to be reckoned with. Scrptiid is scheduled to release more music later this year. We recently caught up with Scrptiid and asked him a few questions.

When you started making music, how has your life changed?

Music has changed my life drastically. It has been the perfect outlet for me to channel my thoughts, feelings, and emotions throughout the highs and lows of my experiences. Music has opened doors that I had only imagined, before; thus, has helped expand my view of the possibilities made available to my life.

How do you think the COVID-19 pandemic altered the music industry?

I feel the COVID pandemic placed so many individuals in positions to become more creative, gave them time to work on their craft(s), and urged so many creative individuals to dig deeper. Many, like myself, were finding and sharing parts of themselves they hadn’t dug so deep to reach, pre-pandemic. COVID produced an unexpected shift- one, in which, some needed in order to tap into those next levels that were waiting to elevate us, as creatives.

What current projects are you working on that we can expect in the future?

Currently, I’m working on experimenting with my sound, versatility, and diversity as I’ve made connections with some select artists, engineers, and producers…be on the lookout for some dope collaborations in the near future, as I explore my own sound and push the boundaries of what I’ve created, before.

What would you tell upcoming artists trying to make it in the music industry?

You will have tough days and you will have even harder days. On the good days, find that light, that glimmer, and hold onto the spark that fuels the fire inside of you because that small spark could be the very thing to carry you through your longest & darkest days. If you’re feeling inspired in this lifetime, there are things waiting for you to achieve in this lifetime- never give up, for the time is now to follow your dreams.
