Producer 9000 Keeps Music Interesting
Ramon Rivas professionally known as 9000 has graced us with his production and engineering for years. 9000 has had the privilege of working with major artists such as Beyonce, Arianna Grande, and Alicia Keys. With so much talent and experience working with artists over the years, we had to catch up with him and get his view on the current state of the music industry.
When you started producing music, how has your life changed?
Life is the same just my kids have more of a comfort level and they enjoy it. I’m so under radar I just try to mix on everything or contribute and i’ll even decrease my fee just to build my resume, it’s called Humility, Amicable, and Hunger.
How do you think the COVID-19 pandemic altered the music industry?
Everybody’s rainy day fund is max, it just showed us that we got to save for a rainy day and get creative with the way we sell products or our services to the consumer, and wash your hands!
What current projects are you working on that we can expect in the future?
Ludacris, his album is foolish with the Timbaland sounds, a lot of programming and mix engineering that is all I am contractually obligated to speak on.
What would you tell upcoming artists trying to make it in the music industry?
Never burn a bridge from intern to chief executive officer, relationships and who you know and who knows you will bring you far, the music or your skill will shine eventually and if you’re in this for money then please find a new profession. The average newcomer doesn’t start seeing funds till the 5th month, stay on your goal and stay dedicated to your personal goal and pray.
