We recently caught up with DJ Express and asked him a few questions:

When you started making music, how has your life changed?

I started making music when I was only 14, and from there I hit the ground running. At such a young age hitting tracks with millions of views has drastically changed my life from catching the attention of sean paul to then opening up for Fatman scoop in front of thousands of people in NYC.

How do you think the COVID-19 pandemic altered the music industry?

I think COVID drastically impacted the music industry, with people having more time because of lack of jobs and events it gave more time for artists to spend more time on their projects and really get creative. COVID-19 was a hard time for a lot of people as well and i strongly believe music was a great help to a lot of people.

What current projects are you working on that we can expect in the future?

I have a couple of projects coming up with Def Jam records with no set dates yet. also in the process of getting projects started with artist like JI the prince of New York and a boogie with tracks i sent them. If all goes well and they like them, I really think we can make groundbreaking records and create history.

What would you tell upcoming artists trying to make it in the music industry?

One thing I would like to say to artists in the music industry is to never give up, even when you think nothing is working. If you would have asked me last year where I would be at now, I would have never guessed I would have gotten this far. I just had to stay consistent and when I felt like I wanted to give up, I went 10 times harder.
