We recently caught up with BlackCard Kev and asked him a few questions:
When you started producing music, how has your life changed?
I started producing music in 2018 and it was always a dream of mine. It opened up my understanding to how things work in the music industry.
How do you think the COVID-19 pandemic altered the music industry?
This pandemic has made it even easier to release music. With the world being shut down it allowed people to focus more on perfecting their craft and gave people more time to apply pressure.
What current projects are you working on that we can expect in the future?
I’m working on releasing a song that I was supposed to release last year but the pandemic slowed the process down. The song is titled “Outta My Mind” and it has a 90’s vibe and the BBD song Poison is heavily sampled.
What would you tell upcoming artists trying to make it in the music industry?
My advice to the up and coming artists is to make sure you put out the best music you have. Make sure that the business side of things are handled first. Nothing is free in this industry is going to cost you time AND money so be prepared to have both of those on hand before starting.
