Piggy just dropped her latest single Go Fren which is now gaining local attention. Go Fren comes on the heels of her debut single Mustache, just released last month. With the rise of female rap artists as of late, Piggy is set to be on that short list of success. We recently caught up with Piggy to ask her a few questions about her music career.

When you started making music, how has your life changed?

I was strictly a college student when I first started taking music serious. My focus instantly shifted from books to beats as I realized this was my calling. I will eventually go back to earn my degree but right now I’m on a mission and feel like the world needs to know who I am!

How do you think the COVID-19 pandemic altered the music industry?

The pandemic has made it harder for artist to make money. We haven’t been doing any shows so now we have to think of more branding ideas and new ways to keep our fans interested. Our focus is more on digital marketing more than anything else. This is a time where an artist creativity and hustle shows!

What current projects are you working on that we can expect in the future?

I’m currently working on an EP! My fans will hear more of me by the end of the year!

What would you tell upcoming female artists trying to make it in the music industry?

First I would tell them to never give up. There will be good days and bad days but you have to stay dedicate and believe in yo self because if you don’t how gon convince anyone else that you the shit? Stay focused.

To keep up with Piggy on all social media platforms @makemegooink
